As Dick Tracy looks into his two-way wrist radio or his computer, depending on how recent the image purports to be. If he were to look up, he would be checking out the wood bridge we saw in the prior post. It is the central point of the Riverwalk and a perfect spot for the statue.

Square-Jawed Crime Fighter

Dick Tracy has been fighting crime in the pages of the Chicago Tribune since 1931, also in syndication around the world.
Chet Gould drew the character until the 1970s, living in Woodstock. There was a Dick Tracy Museum in Woodstock that closed only a year ago.

Among the artists and writers who have continued the saga of the hard-working detective was Dick Locher, an editorial cartoonist with the Tribune and a long-time resident of Naperville. Locher was present for the honor of the Tracy statue at its dedication in early spring, 2010.

The likeness is uncanny, and the statue Tracy looks more like the original than Warren Beatty did in the 1990 movie.
