Rainbow of Colors

Any lover of flowers will love the rainbow of colors at Healing Gardens. Every direction has a palette of tint to relax and interest the eye.

Colors Everywhere

Perhaps in part due to the sunny day, every building looked wonderful and colorful during our trip to LeClaire, Iowa. Indoors, many of the stores had displays of color either for sale or on display. Here we see a pretty building and a selection of glass; each one caught my eye.

Fire

Another look at the power of the color orange. Fire, under control, is a basic need of civilization. Light, heat, the ability to cook and sterilize. Fire, out of control, is all-consuming death, the perfect image of hell. This fire, thankfully, is under control.

Fruit & Flower

The color orange is seen well in pumpkins and the daylilies seen here.

Powerful Color: Orange

One of my archive sets is a set of color collections. For a few posts, we will look at the powerful advancing color orange.

Color Studies: Red

Earlier we looked at some blue and green color studies. Logic suggests that we should turn to red for a few posts, completing the RGB cycle. Christmas mugs in a store display feature a deep metallic red in one, and a wall -- the legendary broad side of a barn -- dominate the other.

Extreme Color

Color and Texture are fun to experiment with in the camera and in Photoshop. Here wee see a stylized silhouette of trees and sky from Spring Creek Reservoir, color pushed and varied in the laptop, along with a convenient and interesting closeup of a hand-drying pillar at the DuPage Children's Museum. A always look for interesting colors and textures in my photos.
