Leaping and Pushing

The close quarters of indoor football allow a good look at details, such as the lineman leaping to attempt a blocked kick, or the offensive lineman pushing the helmet of the charging defender.

Football -- Indoors

Football has been played indoors for over 20 years and I finally attended a game last weekend at the Sears Centre, a wonderful and comfortable arena. The Chicago Slaughter lost to the Bloomington Edge in another high-scoring contest, 70-65. As a photographer, my first comment is that the field is perhaps one quarter the size of outdoor football. This is a pictorial benefit.

Here we see the Edge QB getting off a completed pass, which ended with a Slaughter block of a field goal attempt.

TRAVELING Magazine

Turned out that Castro run-scoring slide image was indeed my favorite, as I could not see any other image working for the cover of my image-only-no-text TRAVELING Magazine.

Talking Stick

Loved the new ballpark at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, home of both the Rockies and the Diamondbacks. My last night in Arizona, I took in a game there between those teams. I did get a few game action shots, but none better than this shot of security guard on duty and this shot of the bullpen catcher after warming up the starting pitcher. I think I will call this picture "Warrior."
